Agapanthus have really nice long, narrow, glossy green leaves. The strong stems of this variety bare open clusters of dark blue blossoms in summer. Prefers full sun and moist but well drained soil. It may take a year before the Agapanthus establish enough to produce flowers. Also excellent for containers but ensure these are big enough to allow the roots to develop. Feed with bone-meal during the leaf and flowering stage and do not over water. Plant as soon as possible after delivery and fan out the roots so that just the tip of the stem is showing above the soil.
Tip: Works well in borders with lilies and crocosmia.
Flowering height: 24-30″ (60-75cms)
Flowering period: July-August
Aspect: In a sunny part of the garden that does not get too cold.
Soil type: Soils that are well drained and humus rich are ideal.
