Ideal for containers or hanging baskets the gorgeous red flowers will provide a cascade throughout the summer. The bright red pendulous flowers will cascade down and as we provide large tubers, we know these are the best for a summer of colour. Start off in February/March in seed trays or hanging baskets in the greenhouse  and harden off outside when the fear of frosts have finished.

Growing Instructions

Start off tubers in a greenhouse or similar from January to March and harden off before planting out after the fear of frosts have passed. Alternatively they can be plant direct into containers or borders outside from April on-wards. Soils should be well cultivated to a fine crumb and the tubers planted with the top just showing above the soil level. When planting in containers use a mixture of 50/50 multi-purpose compost and john innes number 2 or similar. Keep compost moist during the growing and flowering season and especially in containers make sure they are fed with a liquid fertiliser such as tomato food.

Tip: It is often difficult to tell which way up to plant begonias but the stems will appear from the rough or concave side of the bulb.
