This is a very attractive clump forming perennial which is ideal for growing in shady places and a humus rich soil. The flowers are pendulous white flowers followed by blackish berries in the autumn. The flowers appear on such lovely arching stems. They are rhizomes which will spread once established. Cultivate soils to a depth of 10-15cms and plant the disporum 5cms below the soil surface. In heavier soils add grit and humus matter to help with drainage. Do not allow the soil to dry out especially in the first year whilst they are establishing themselves.
Height: 18-24″ (18-24cm)
Soil type: Free draining soils that are humus rich (plenty rotted leaf matter)
Aspect: Shady areas of the garden. Not ideal in full sun unless soils are kept moist.
