Hepatica acutiloba is excellent in the shadier parts of the garden and will produce dainty pale blue to white flowers which slightly pointed leaves. The flowers last for months and then the glossy foliage takes over and also looks stunning. Prefers the shadier areas of the garden and can be left to naturalise from year to year. It is quite a small bulb but what it produces will astound you. Cultivate soils to a depth of 8-10cms and plant them 5cms deep, will be OK to leave over winter to naturalise
