Spikes of deep pink bells. Pink Pearl is one of the most popular varieties used in planting schemes. A very fragrant variety, also very suitable for containers. Hyacinths make the best impact when planted in groups of odd numbers. Plant in well drained soil that enjoys a reasonable amount of sun per day. Cultivate soils to a depth of 20cms and plant bulbs 10cms deep and up to 10cms apart in heavier soils add grit or well rotted humus to help with drainage. When growing in containers planting distance can be reduced to 5cms. ideal to plant with dwarf tulips, muscari or dwarf narcissi. Remove flowers once they have turned brown and leave foliage to die back. Ensure bulbs are fed during the flower and leaf stage.
