The flowers of Double Standard are light blue violet with a gold signal and a white sunburst. Iris Sibirica Double Standard is a good plant and can grow from 60cms to 90cms tall. Each stem can have between 2 and 5 flowers and the plants will rapidly produce a good clump. They perform well in most gardens and will quickly form into clumps. They are happy in full sun or semi-shade. Remember to cultivate the soil to a depth of 20cms before planting and mix in something like bone-meal or well rotted garden compost at this stage. Plant rhizomes so the roots sit below the soil surface with a green growth just breaking the surface.
