Schizostylis is the perfect autumn flowering plant for the garden or greenhouse as the flowers appear later in the season. When growing outdoors, grow in moderately fertile, moist, well-drained soil in full sun. This variety will produce spikes of numerous open cup-shaped crimson flowers. In cold wet gardens schizostyllis may struggle to survive the cold winter days. In ideal conditions they will bulk up into a large clump in a number of years.
Flowering Height: 2-3 foot (60-90cms)
Soil Type: Moisture retentive soils that do not dry out.
Aspect: Plenty of sun although they will be ok in partial shade.
